Hi HK fans :)
My name is Rika, a media researcher for a TV production company in Tokyo, Collaboration inc. (http://www.collab.co.jp/)
We are currently producing a quiz show where non-Japanese contestants compete in quiz on Japanese pop culture. We have “Hello Kitty” as one of the categories and now looking for those who are interested in taking part in this show. This category is going to feature questions about trivial facts of HK, knowledge on HK product, and possibly other sanrio characters. There is going to be about 6 contestants and the winner gets a prize.
-Title: Nippon Daisuki Gaikokujin Grand Prix
-Broadcaster: Fuji TV (Terrestrial)
-Airdate: July 13th 2012 1am-2am
The quiz will take place in Los Angeles on either the weekend of June 23rd or 30th.

OMG I love Hello kitty so much but the prices of merchandise is way too much for me at the moment.
I recently lost my job (paid off) as a pet cosmetologist and right now I am struggling really bad to find a job in the similar vein. I was not earning a big salary while working but it allowed me to be able to buy my Hello Kitty fluff that keeps me smiling, which I really need at the moment because I find myself feeling under the weather and sometimes quite depressed (Not sure if it's because of the job or other factors.)
Does anyone else struggle to buy the items which they NEED to have in their life?
But other than That I just want to say that I LOVE Hello Kitty.
P.S. .. does anyone know where I can get a Chococat plush doll?

I also struggle to buy Hello Kitty stuff. I'm a student, so I don't have much money. However, there are so many attractive Hello Kitty stuff in Japan. Day by day, new Hello Kitty stuff is created and I want to get everything. Of course it's impossible,so Hello Kitty stuff makes me smile but sometimes it makes me stressful.
By the way, whenever I travel somewhere(not only in Japan but also abroad), I cannot help buying "local Kitty" which wears ethnic clothes or has special products. I'd like to ask everyone, do you collect some specific Hello Kitty stuff?" My father in law was sweet enough to buy me a HK doll from China. She is wearing a kimono...which i know is japanese authentic but i still enjoy her the most since she is from China :D

My name is Kenshi Fukuhara, an independent TV Producer living in Southern CA. I am currently working on an assignment for a TV documentary on Hello Kitty. Japan's public TV network, NHK is now producing one hour TV documentary on the popularity and the business success of Hello Kitty worldwide. NHK is Japan's largest TV broadcaster and is equivalent to BBC in UK and is well known internationally for the award-winning documentaries. http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/
